Duties & Responsibilities
This role encompasses a comprehensive range of duties critical to the seamless functioning of our hospitality and catering environments. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure full compliance with both Company and Statutory regulations regarding cleanliness in every task you undertake. You will be directly accountable for the meticulous cleanliness and order of the scullery area, which includes the thorough washing, sanitizing, and storage of all crockery, cutlery, glassware, and kitchen utensils to the highest company standards. Maintaining exemplary hygiene, health, and safety protocols is a non-negotiable aspect of this position at all times.
Your duties will extend to the regular and efficient removal of all refuse from the scullery and associated areas to maintain a sanitary workspace. You will be responsible for the cleaning of walls, windows, and food preparation equipment, as well as the disinfecting of kitchen, laundry, toilet, and bathroom fixtures. A specific focus will be placed on the cleaning of fridges within walk-in cold rooms, ensuring they meet stringent health codes. You will also ensure the exterior and rear areas of the store are consistently clean, tidy, and inviting, fully complying with all health regulations. Operational safety is paramount; you must correctly place safety signs or boards in any area where cleaning is actively in progress, and no cleaning agents are to be left unattended in public spaces. Flexibility is key, as you will be required to assist proactively in other areas of the unit during quieter periods and attend to all reasonable requests from management. This role may also involve assisting with additional duties outside the immediate scope as operational needs demand, underscoring the supportive and team-oriented nature of the position.

Excellent personal hygiene is mandatory, and candidates must be free from skin allergies to common foods and industrial detergents. Strong verbal communication skills and a proven ability to work collaboratively as part of a cohesive team are indispensable for success in this environment.
Qualifications
Applicants must have a completed Matric certificate. Furthermore, specific prior experience working in a Hospital environment as a General Assistant or in a similar support role is a critical requirement for this position. This experience ensures familiarity with the rigorous hygiene protocols and structured operational pace characteristic of healthcare-related hospitality services.
