Position Overview
A vacancy exists for a General Worker at the Kempton Park facility. This position reports to the Stock Controller and forms part of the operations team responsible for order fulfillment, inventory management, and quality assurance. The successful candidate will contribute to maintaining operational efficiency through accurate order picking, adherence to quality standards, and support for stock control procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Order Fulfillment
· Accurately pick products according to customer order specifications
· Assemble orders and transfer them to the designated holding area for verification
· Ensure correct seed reference numbers are selected during the picking process
· Report any incorrect reference numbers or discrepancies to the Stock Controller immediately
Quality Assurance
· Verify that all picked items are clean and in saleable condition
· Inspect products for compliance with established quality standards regarding packaging integrity, label accuracy and legibility, outer appearance and presentation, and overall neatness
· Report any quality concerns to supervision for corrective action
Stock Control Support
· Adhere to stock rotation procedures, specifically the FIFO (First In, First Out) method, as directed by the Stock Controller
· Participate in bi-annual stock counts and ad hoc inventory checks
· Assist in maintaining accurate stock levels through careful handling and reporting
· Support inventory accuracy by following established stock management protocols
Team Collaboration
· Assist fellow team members with task execution once personal responsibilities are completed
· Contribute to a cooperative and productive work environment
· Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervision regarding operational matters
Workplace Organisation and Safety
· Maintain a clean, tidy, and organised work area at all times
· Adhere to housekeeping standards to ensure a safe working environment
· Support security measures to protect products, company assets, and facility integrity
· Report any security or safety concerns to management promptly
Minimum Requirements
Educational Qualifications
· Grade 12 (Matric) – Essential
Professional Experience
· Minimum 1 year experience as a General Worker – Preferential
· Experience in warehouse, logistics, or stock handling environments will be advantageous
