Key Responsibilities: What You Will Do
As our Parts Backorder Clerk, you will be the central link between our internal teams, suppliers, and customers. Your primary mission will be to resolve backorder issues efficiently to minimize downtime and maintain trust. Your day-to-day tasks will include:
· Backorder Analysis & Resolution: Conduct thorough investigations into all backorder-related issues. You will pinpoint the root cause of delays and work directly with the order creators to provide actionable solutions, ensuring that no order is left unresolved.
· Supplier Expediting & Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for supplier queries. You will proactively expedite outstanding orders and manage critical communication to ensure that lead times are accurate and adhered to.
· Data Distribution & Reporting: Ensure the seamless and timely distribution of backorder analysis reports to all relevant internal stakeholders. Your reports will empower the sales and service teams with the information they need to set accurate customer expectations.
· Lead-Time Management: Diligently manage and update supplier lead times within our systems. By ensuring this data is current, you help prevent future backorders and improve the accuracy of the entire parts supply chain.
· Feedback Loop Management: Ensure that feedback from suppliers regarding requisitioned parts is accurately captured and communicated. Closing this loop is essential for continuous improvement.
· Precision Reporting: Maintain consistent and accurate records. Your attention to detail in report management will provide valuable insights for management and procurement teams.
· Housekeeping: Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient digital and physical workspace, adhering to company standards.
Qualifications and Competencies: What You Need to Succeed
To excel in this role, you need a blend of foundational education, technical system knowledge, and soft skills.
Minimum Requirements:
· Education: Grade 12 / Matric (Essential).
· System Proficiency: Strong knowledge of computer systems is a must.
· Advantageous: Experience with SAP Financials.
· Advantageous: Familiarity with Parts Systems (e.g., Dealer Business Systems or specific inventory management software).
