JOB PURPOSE
The primary purpose of this role is to ensure the safe, punctual, and efficient transportation of students and staff while maintaining the highest standards of vehicle care and safety compliance. The Driver will also be required to perform miscellaneous tasks and assist with general upkeep as needed.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Transportation & Driving:
· Safely operate school vehicles, including buses, for the transportation of students and staff
· Follow assigned routes and schedules with precision and punctuality
· Ensure all journeys comply with road traffic regulations and safety standards
Vehicle Maintenance & Safety:
· Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections using the official checklist
· Refuel vehicles and maintain optimal fuel levels at all times
· Report any mechanical issues or defects immediately to supervisors
· Perform basic cleaning and housekeeping of all school vehicles
· Ensure vehicles are always presentable, sanitized, and roadworthy
General Support Duties:
· Assist with miscellaneous tasks as requested by management
· Support school events and activities requiring transportation services
· Maintain a helpful and professional demeanor when interacting with students, parents, and staff
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

· Excellent Eyesight: Must meet the medical standards required for professional driving
· Punctuality: Strict adherence to schedules and timelines is non-negotiable

· Reliability: Trustworthy and dependable, with a strong sense of responsibility
· Teamwork: Willing and able to work collaboratively with colleagues and school leadership
· Communication: Clear and respectful communication with students, teachers, and parents
· Flexibility: Prepared to work overtime when required, including early mornings or occasional after-hours duties
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
· Grade 12 / Matric Certificate – Essential
· Valid Driver’s Licence: Code EB (Code 8) – Essential
· Professional Driving Permit (PDP) – Essential
· Language Proficiency: Fluent in English (spoken and written)
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
· Minimum 3 years of relevant driving experience in a similar environment
· Previous experience in a school, corporate, or passenger transport setting will be advantageous
· Proven track record of safe driving and vehicle maintenance
