Voltex is inviting applications from experienced and reliable Code 10 Drivers to join its Briardene branch. This opportunity is ideal for a safety-conscious professional who enjoys working with customers and ensuring goods are delivered accurately and on time. The successful candidate will report directly to the Branch Manager and play an important role in supporting daily distribution operations.
Key Responsibilities
As the Driver Code 10, your duties will include:
- Performing daily vehicle inspections before every trip to ensure the vehicle is safe for use.
- Reporting mechanical faults, damages, or accidents without delay.
- Planning efficient delivery routes to meet scheduled delivery times.
- Assisting with loading stock and confirming that all items match the delivery documentation before departure.
- Delivering goods safely and collecting customer signatures as proof of receipt.
- Completing delivery records and submitting all required paperwork accurately.
- Providing professional customer service and assisting in resolving delivery-related queries.
- Keeping the delivery vehicle clean, presentable, and well maintained.
- Monitoring service intervals and informing management when maintenance is due.
- Reporting delivery delays or operational issues to the Branch Manager.
- Following company safety procedures and maintaining compliance with all transport regulations.
Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this position, applicants should have:
- Grade 12 (Matric) or an equivalent qualification.
- A valid Code 10 driver’s licence.
- A valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP).
- At least three years of professional driving experience.
- Experience using GPS navigation systems.
- Basic understanding of warehouse and stock handling procedures.
- Knowledge of workplace safety requirements and protective equipment.
- Good communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with customers.
- A responsible attitude, strong time management skills, and a commitment to safe driving.
