Job Overview
Capsicum Culinary Studio, a business unit of AdvTech, is looking for a reliable, hardworking and detail-oriented Cleaner to join its Gqeberha campus in Nelson Mandela Bay, Eastern Cape.
The successful candidate will play an important role in maintaining a clean, hygienic, safe and welcoming environment for students, lecturers, staff and clients. Because the campus includes training kitchens and food-related learning facilities, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and preventing contamination will be a particularly important part of the role.

Main Purpose of the Position
The Cleaner will be responsible for ensuring that the school’s premises, lecture rooms, training kitchens, storerooms and other designated areas remain clean, organised and presentable.
The role also involves carrying out additional cleaning and related duties as instructed by the line manager. The successful applicant should therefore be flexible and willing to assist with different tasks when required.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Clean and maintain lecture rooms so that they are neat and ready for classes.
- Keep training kitchens clean, orderly and suitable for practical demonstrations.
- Maintain a high standard of hygiene throughout the campus.
- Follow appropriate cleaning practices to help prevent contamination.
- Ensure that premises remain clean, tidy and presentable for students, staff and visitors.
- Keep storerooms organised and free from unnecessary clutter.
- Maintain stockroom areas in a clean and hygienic condition.
- Take appropriate measures to help prevent pests, including fish moths and mice, from affecting storage areas.
- Help prevent food spoilage by maintaining suitable levels of cleanliness and hygiene around food-related facilities.
- Report cleanliness, hygiene, pest or maintenance concerns to the appropriate manager.
- Complete additional duties assigned by the line manager when required.
- Work consistently according to the required standards and procedures of the campus.
