We are currently looking for a meticulous and trustworthy Cashier to join our dynamic team at our Secunda Depot in Mpumalanga. This is a permanent position that offers stability and the opportunity to grow within a major national organization. The successful candidate will report directly to the Depot Manager and will play a critical role in our daily financial operations.
Job Purpose
The primary purpose of this role is to ensure the accurate collection, reconciliation, and banking of all cash received from drivers on a daily basis. The Cashier acts as the gatekeeper of daily revenue, ensuring that every rand is accounted for and properly processed.
Minimum Requirements: Education & Experience
To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the following criteria:
· Education: Grade 12 (Matric) with Mathematics and Accounting as passed subjects.
· Experience:
· 2 – 3 years of experience as a Cashier.
· Alternatively, experience in a banking environment or general office administration.
· Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel) and experience with ERP systems (specifically Syspro will be an advantage).

· Self-Starter: Must be proactive and able to use their own initiative without constant supervision.
· Pressure Management: Capable of working under pressure during peak times.
· Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Duties & Responsibilities
As the Cashier at the Secunda Depot, your core responsibilities will include:
Cash Collection & Reconciliation:
· Receive and physically recount all cash handed in by Drivers.
· Process payments against the correct driver receipts to ensure accurate allocation.
· Balance the cash daily and prepare the deposit for the bank.
Administration & Reporting:
· Record all cash and cheques in the daily cash-up summary.
· Cash up on a daily basis to ensure all figures correspond.
· Capture financial information accurately on the Syspro system.
· Submit a detailed cash summary to the Cashbook Clerk daily.
· Record seal numbers in the register for all bank deposits.
Security & Compliance:
· Report any cash discrepancies or irregularities to Management immediately.
· Ensure the cash office door remains locked at all times for security.
· Lock all cash in the safe overnight, adhering to company security policies.
