Why Join Our Team as a Cash Processor?

The Cash Processor role represents more than just a job—it’s a gateway to the financial industry. You’ll develop critical skills in cash handling, reconciliation, and customer service while working with cutting-edge financial systems. This position provides hands-on experience that will serve as a foundation for long-term career growth in banking, finance, or treasury management.

Key Responsibilities of the Cash Processor Role

Cash Reception and Processing

As a Cash Processor, your primary responsibility will be receiving deposits and accurately updating them on applicable systems. You’ll need to maintain strict compliance with all company policies and procedures to eliminate potential risks to both the organization and our valued customers. Your attention to detail will be crucial in maintaining the integrity of every transaction.

Deposit Preparation and Verification

Before processing any deposits, you’ll carefully inspect containers and bags for any signs of damage or interference. Any anomalies must be immediately reported to the Team Controller to ensure security protocols are maintained. You’ll acknowledge each container on the applicable system and process all deposits according to agreed-upon bank Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Proper workstation preparation is essential for effective and efficient note counting. Your organizational skills will directly impact the accuracy and speed of daily operations.

Note Sorting and Reconciliation

The role involves sorting all prepared deposits and notes for FDP/ACDP processing on the same day, strictly within cutoff times. You’ll manage rejected notes by sending them to the Reject Teller along with PCD cards, deposit slips, and stop loss bags for verification and balancing.

Reconciliation of ACDP deposits requires meticulous attention as you’ll perform verification of all rejected notes, manually checking for counterfeits, dye-stained currency, and mutilated notes. This aspect of the role demands sharp observational skills and familiarity with security features of various banknotes.

Cash Transfers and End-of-Day Balancing

You’ll perform cash transfers to vaults and conduct comprehensive end-of-day balancing and reconciliation of all cash received. All transactions, including shortages and surpluses, must be handled according to SOPs, ensuring complete accountability for every cent that passes through your workstation.

Desktop Deposit Processing

When processing desktop deposits, you’ll maintain strict separation of deposits per customer at all times. All deposits must be processed on the same day received, maintaining the highest standards of efficiency and accuracy. Each deposit must be properly balanced on the applicable system, with all discrepancies properly documented and reported.

Coin Processing and Bulk Deposits

The role includes processing bulk coin deposits in accordance with SBV policies and procedures. You’ll sort and process teller coin transfers, ensuring that all coin currency is properly handled, counted, and prepared for distribution or storage.

Bank System Integration Management

For bank system integrated deposit processing, you’ll validate all transactions linked to system integrations according to bank SLAs. You’ll coordinate with client services regarding account numbers not linked to the bank system, preventing delays in crediting customers. Verifying deposit account numbers is essential to eliminate losses or misposts, and any system downtime or delayed batches must be escalated to the team controller immediately.

Payroll and Change Processing

Payroll and change transactions must be processed according to customer-specific SLAs. All discrepancies require timely reporting to the Team Controller. Floats must be properly sealed in drop safe bags with float packing slips and placed into trolleys according to client requirements. All payroll entries must be processed within bank SLA timeframes.

Equipment Maintenance and Security

You’ll maintain all equipment by reporting any defects to the Team Controller promptly. Prior to dispatching any materials, you must obtain proper bank authorization following SOPs. Utilizing equipment according to Standard Operating Procedures ensures the protection and care of company assets.
