We are currently seeking a motivated and responsible Driver Salesman to join our team in Pretoria West. This permanent position offers an exciting opportunity for an individual who enjoys customer interaction and has a strong background in the FMCG industry.
Job Description
The successful incumbent will be responsible for driving a truck over established routes or within an established territory and selling products to customers. This is a dual-role position that requires both logistical expertise and sales acumen. You will be the face of RCL Foods to our customers, ensuring that products are delivered promptly and efficiently while actively seeking opportunities to grow sales.
Successful candidates must be flexible and willing to work shifts, weekends (including Sundays), overtime, and public holidays as and when required by operational demands.
Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this position, applicants must meet the following criteria:
· Grade 12 / Matric – This is the minimum educational requirement
· Driver’s Licence Code 10 – A valid Code 10 license is essential
· PDP – Professional Driving Permit is required
· FMCG Experience – Minimum 2 years’ experience in an FMCG environment
· Formal Qualification – A formal qualification would be an added advantage
Duties & Responsibilities
Delivery and Logistics
· Ensure the prompt transport and efficient delivery of goods to customers along assigned routes
· Ensure that delivery procedures are adhered to and that all documentation is accurately maintained
· Ensure the efficient operation of the delivery fleet through proper vehicle care and reporting
· Maintain strict control and security of all goods collected, transported, and delivered
· Ensure minimum losses are incurred on products by the careful and respectful handling of such items
Sales and Customer Relations
· Sell products to potential customers on assigned routes
· Identify new sales opportunities within the established territory
· Build and maintain positive relationships with customers
Stock and Cash Management
· Ensure effective and efficient stock returns
· Balance van sheet accurately at the end of each shift
· Collect crates and stock returns from customers
· Manage cash transactions according to company procedures
Compliance and Safety
· Adhere to all company policies and procedures
· Follow road safety regulations at all times
· Report any incidents or irregularities promptly
