Apply for the Position of Warehouse Clerk at Pedros Centurion
Location: Centurion, Gauteng
Employment Type: Contract
Application Deadline: 31 March 2026
At Pedros, our commitment to serving flavour extends far beyond the grill. It begins deep within our operations, specifically within the walls of our Distribution Centre in Centurion. We are searching for a meticulous and systems-oriented Warehouse Clerk to ensure that the engine room of our restaurant supply chain runs with maximum efficiency. If you view inventory management not just as a task, but as a critical component of business success, we want to hear from you.
This role is ideal for an individual who thrives on structure and takes pride in maintaining the integrity of stock from the moment it arrives until it departs for our restaurants.
Your Role in Keeping the Flame Burning
As a Warehouse Clerk, you will act as the gatekeeper of our inventory and the organiser of our workflow. Your primary mission will be to maintain precision, enforce compliance, and implement systems that prevent operational gaps. You will report daily on warehouse metrics and collaborate closely with various departments to ensure every store receives exactly what they need to deliver excellence.
Key Responsibilities: Precision in Action
- Inventory Integrity and Control
· You will be responsible for the strict enforcement of our Stock Take Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). This includes conducting weekly investigations into stock variances to identify root causes and implement corrective measures.
· Maintain the integrity of our First-In, First-Out (FIFO) system to guarantee product freshness and minimise waste.
· Monitor and maintain accurate PAR levels, ensuring we are neither overstocked nor understocked.
· Take ownership of non-accounted stock, investigating discrepancies until they are resolved.
· Oversee the management of designated areas for damaged, discontinued, or discarded stock, ensuring these items are isolated correctly and do not enter the supply chain.
- Streamlined Receiving and Dispatch
· Verify all incoming goods against purchase orders, ensuring pricing accuracy and immediately flagging any discrepancies.
· Proactively manage and resolve delivery issues, including overs, shorts, and damages, in a timely manner to avoid disruptions.
· Pay special attention to temperature-sensitive products, ensuring the cold chain is never broken from the receiving bay to the transportation vehicle.
· Act as a key liaison between the Procurement and Logistics teams to facilitate smooth communication and workflow.
- Organisational Excellence and Safety Compliance
· Maintain a “place for everything and everything in its place” philosophy. Ensure all pallet bays are clearly labelled and logically organised for easy access and counting.
· Uphold strict security protocols by enforcing access control procedures within the warehouse.
· Champion a safety-first culture by ensuring all team members are compliant with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and uniform standards.
· Drive daily discipline by ensuring cleaning and closing checklists are completed thoroughly.
· Take ownership of Quality Incident Reports (QIRs), ensuring they are addressed effectively and that preventative measures are put in place to avoid recurrence.
- Data-Driven Reporting and Systems Management
· Compile and distribute comprehensive daily Warehouse Reports to management, providing clear insights into operational performance.
· Utilise your proficiency in Sage and the MS Office Suite (particularly Excel) to maintain accurate digital records.
· Identify operational bottlenecks or gaps and propose systematic solutions to enhance efficiency.
· Collaborate with procurement to forecast needs and maintain optimal stock levels.
- Fostering Team Excellence
· Support the training and development of warehouse staff on all relevant SOPs, ensuring consistency and competence across the team.
· Step in to support ad hoc operational duties as required to ensure business continuity.
What You Bring to the Table
To succeed in this role, you need more than just warehousing experience; you need a mindset geared toward continuous improvement.
· Education: A Diploma or Degree in Warehousing, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field is required.
· Experience: A minimum of two years of hands-on experience in a warehousing environment is essential. You must have demonstrable experience working with Inventory Management Systems and FIFO methodologies.
· Technical Skills: Proficiency in Sage and the MS Office Suite is non-negotiable.
· Core Competencies:
· Strong analytical capabilities with a knack for problem-solving.
· An eagle eye for detail and a high level of accountability.
· The ability to thrive and maintain focus in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.
