Purpose of the Role
The primary purpose of the Truck Driver Assistant is to support the driver in all aspects of the delivery process. This includes the safe loading, securing, transportation, and offloading of flooring products and related materials to customers and distribution points across the national network.

The assistant must ensure that all goods are handled with care, deliveries are completed within the expected timeframes, and customers receive a professional and positive service experience. Key Responsibilities
The Truck Driver Assistant will be responsible for a range of operational and support duties, including but not limited to:
1. Loading and Offloading Support
Assist with the preparation, loading, and unloading of products onto delivery vehicles. Ensure that goods are correctly secured to prevent damage during transit and that all items match the delivery documentation.
2. Delivery Assistance and Route Support
Work closely with the driver to follow designated routes and schedules. Support efficient navigation and ensure that deliveries are completed on time while adhering to safety regulations.
3. Vehicle and Equipment Care
Help maintain the cleanliness and overall condition of the delivery vehicle and associated equipment. Report any mechanical issues, damages, or irregularities immediately to the relevant supervisor.
4. Documentation and Accuracy
Ensure that all delivery paperwork is accurate and complete. This includes verifying product quantities, checking invoices, and obtaining Proof of Delivery (POD) signatures from customers.
5. Customer Interaction
Engage with customers in a professional and respectful manner. Address basic delivery-related queries and ensure that all interactions reflect positively on the company’s brand.
6. Safety and Compliance
Follow all safety procedures when handling goods and operating around vehicles. Assist with pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure that the vehicle is in safe working condition.
7. Warehouse Support
Provide assistance within the warehouse when required. This may include stock handling, organizing goods, participating in stock counts, and supporting general operational activities.
Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this position, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- A National Senior Certificate (Matric), including Maths Literacy and English
- At least 1 to 2 years of experience in a logistics, delivery, or warehouse environment
- Physical fitness and the ability to handle heavy materials safely
- Basic understanding of warehouse operations and delivery documentation
- Strong reliability, punctuality, and work ethic
Advantageous Qualifications
