About the Opportunity
The successful candidates will become part of the Clicks store team and will be responsible for creating a positive shopping experience by providing professional customer service, assisting customers with their purchases, and ensuring smooth daily store operations.
The role requires individuals who are reliable, accurate, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced retail environment. Shop Assistant Cashiers play an important role in representing the Clicks brand by helping customers, handling transactions correctly, maintaining store standards, and supporting sales activities.
Key Responsibilities
The appointed candidates will be responsible for operating the point-of-sale system efficiently and ensuring that customer transactions are processed accurately. Duties will include scanning products, receiving payments, and handling cash responsibly while following company procedures.
Employees will also assist customers by providing friendly service, answering questions about products, and making sure shoppers receive the information they need. They will promote Clicks ClubCard membership, encourage customers to participate in promotions, and help increase customer engagement.
Other duties include:
- Maintaining excellent customer service standards at all times.
- Ensuring the checkout area remains organised and efficient.
- Promoting current store specials and campaigns.
- Assisting with product displays, merchandising, and general housekeeping.
- Following stock management procedures and maintaining accurate product handling.
- Keeping up to date with product ranges, promotions, and store events.
- Supporting the store team in achieving business goals.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Grade 12 / Matric qualification is essential.
- Previous experience in a customer-facing role, especially within retail or FMCG environments, will be an advantage.
- Basic mathematical skills are required.
- Good communication and customer service abilities.
- Computer literacy and the ability to work with point-of-sale systems.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling transactions.
Candidates with experience in retail operations, merchandising, promotions, or stock procedures will have an added advantage.
