Job Overview
Pepkor Speciality is looking for a motivated, customer-focused and reliable Shop Assistant / Cashier to join its store team in Waterfall City, Midrand.

Key Responsibilities
As a Shop Assistant / Cashier, your responsibilities will include:
- Welcoming customers and delivering consistently excellent customer service.
- Assisting shoppers with product enquiries and helping them select suitable merchandise.
- Operating the till and accurately processing customer purchases and payments.
- Helping increase sales by identifying opportunities to recommend additional products where appropriate.
- Keeping shelves and sales areas properly stocked and ensuring replenishment is completed efficiently.
- Making sure new merchandise is placed on the shop floor promptly.
- Maintaining accurate and attractive product ticketing throughout the store.
- Supporting visual merchandising standards and ensuring displays are neat and appealing.
- Assisting the store manager with routine operational duties and other tasks required to keep the store running effectively.
- Taking care of store equipment and ensuring that company property is properly secured.
- Following workplace health and safety procedures at all times.
- Understanding the store’s daily, weekly and monthly sales objectives and contributing towards achieving them.
- Supporting initiatives designed to reduce stock losses and protect store merchandise.
- Maintaining good relationships with customers and fellow employees.
- Helping maintain a clean, organised and welcoming shopping environment.
Minimum Qualification
Applicants should have:
- Grade 12 / Matric
Experience Requirements
The ideal candidate should have:
- At least 1 year of experience in a similar retail environment.
- Previous exposure to customer service, cash handling or sales will be advantageous.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to work with retail systems.
