We are currently seeking three dedicated Shop Assistants / Cashiers to join our dynamic team at the Sandton City store.
Position Purpose
To deliver service excellence through efficient customer service, accurate point of sale operations, and effective merchandising that creates a positive customer experience and drives sales.
Key Responsibilities
Point of Sale Operations
Execute all POS operational activities efficiently and accurately. Scan merchandise correctly and process payments including cash, card, and other tender types. Handle cash securely at all times following established procedures. Apply Clubcard rewards accurately to ensure customers receive correct benefits.
Customer Service Excellence
Deliver superior customer service as a visible and approachable brand ambassador. Offer friendly, professional service that makes customers feel valued. Provide accurate product, promotion, and event information. Proactively inform customers about current promotions to drive sales.
Clubcard Promotion
Actively promote the Clicks Clubcard to every customer. Enrol new Clubcard members to achieve participation targets. Communicate Clubcard benefits clearly to encourage sign-ups.
Merchandising and Housekeeping
Execute merchandising according to store and visual standards. Maintain general housekeeping duties for a clean shopping environment. Support stock management procedures as required.
Product Knowledge
Maintain updated knowledge of products, ranges, and promotions. Stay informed about store events and special offers. Provide correct information to customers at all times.
Values and Vision
Support the Group’s vision to be the customer’s first choice retailer. Live and drive company values in all interactions. Contribute to a positive team environment.
Knowledge Requirements
Basic mathematics calculations for transaction processing. Retail and FMCG background understanding. Merchandising and promotions principles. Stock management procedures. Customer service excellence standards.
Skills Required
Planning and organising abilities. Problem-solving capabilities. Strong customer orientation. Good communication skills. Computer literacy for POS systems. Numeracy skills for cash handling.

Minimum Requirements
Education
Essential: Grade 12 / Matric. Desirable: 50% or higher for Mathematics at Grade 12 level. Desirable: 50% or higher for English at Grade 12 level.
Experience
Desirable: Previous experience in a customer-facing role within retail or FMCG store operations. Essential: No prior experience required – entry-level candidates welcome.
Working Conditions
Based at Sandton City shopping centre. Fast-paced retail environment. Standing for extended periods. May include weekend and public holiday work. Direct customer interaction throughout shifts.
