Job Overview

Cape Union Mart International is looking for a motivated and customer-focused Sales Associate to join its Waterfall store in Rustenburg. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering excellent customer experiences, supporting sales growth, processing transactions accurately and maintaining high store standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver excellent customer service and use effective selling techniques to meet customer needs.
• Work towards and consistently achieve individual sales targets.
• Identify opportunities to increase sales and contribute to store turnover.
• Maintain an organised, clean and visually appealing store environment.
• Follow company procedures designed to minimise stock losses.
• Process cash, card, voucher, coupon and other approved customer payments accurately.
• Ensure merchandise leaving the store has been correctly scanned and paid for.
• Process customer loyalty cards and applicable partner loyalty programmes.
• Build positive and professional relationships with customers.
• Provide helpful product information, assistance and advice.
• Handle customer queries regarding stock and work towards resolving them efficiently.
• Escalate customer complaints and compliments to the appropriate management team.
• Contribute to a positive, energetic and engaging store environment.

Requirements

Essential

• Matric or equivalent qualification.
• Up to 6 months of retail experience.
• South African citizenship.
• Ability and willingness to work retail hours.
• Clear credit and criminal record.

Advantageous

• Approximately 1 year of retail experience.
• Microsoft/computer proficiency.
• Strong verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of current fashion, clothing or outdoor lifestyle trends relevant to the brand.
