Job Overview
A well-established company in the FMCG sector is currently seeking a reliable and hardworking Sales Assistant to join their team in Polokwane. This role is ideal for individuals who are target-driven, detail-oriented, and able to perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
The successful candidate will support the Salesman Driver in daily delivery operations, ensuring that products are delivered accurately and on time while maintaining excellent customer service standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Salesman Driver with daily product deliveries to customers
- Verify and check all loaded products against the loading sheet before departure
- Ensure timely departures according to scheduled delivery times
- Offload products at customer locations safely and efficiently
- Handle cash collections from customers and ensure daily cash-up (where required)
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness, safety, and hygiene standards
- Report any accidents or incidents immediately to the Transport Department and Service Manager
- Support overall delivery operations and ensure customer satisfaction
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- 1–2 years of experience in the FMCG industry
- Valid Code 10/C1 Driver’s License with PDP
Skills and Competencies
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact at all levels
- Good relationship-building and customer service skills
- Basic computer literacy
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Self-motivated, responsible, and reliable
Working Conditions
- Fast-paced and pressurised working environment
- 6-day work week
- Required to work weekends (Saturdays and Sundays) and public holidays
- May be required to work rotating 12-hour shifts, including night shifts
