Job Overview
Weir is seeking an experienced Sales Administrator / COE Service Administrator to join its team in Mokopane, Limpopo. This is a full-time opportunity with a hybrid work arrangement for an organized and detail-focused professional who understands service administration and can confidently work with business systems, customers and internal teams.
Weir operates within the global mining technology sector, providing solutions designed to help mining operations become more efficient and sustainable. The successful candidate will contribute to the smooth administration of service activities, supporting engineers, service managers, sales, logistics and finance teams.
The role is particularly suited to someone with strong experience in service order administration, SAP and Microsoft Office. You will be expected to manage service-related transactions accurately, monitor operational progress, assist with financial administration and provide reliable information to internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will provide comprehensive administrative support throughout the service order lifecycle. This includes creating, updating and managing service transactions using SAP Customer Service (SAP CS) and ensuring that information is processed correctly and within the required timeframes.
A major part of the position involves preparing and releasing orders for scheduling and maintaining accurate information relating to functional locations, equipment, bills of materials and installed-base records. The administrator will also register service enquiries, prepare quotations, process contracts and assist with billing-related transactions.
The role requires close monitoring of service activities and costs. You will work alongside Service Managers and Engineers to keep track of captured working hours, service expenditure and work in progress. Monitoring service delivery against agreed timelines will also form part of the position, with the successful applicant expected to identify areas where processes or delivery performance can be improved.
Strong internal coordination will be essential. The administrator will communicate with departments such as sales, logistics and finance to help ensure that customer orders and service requirements move through the business efficiently.
Customer and Engineering Support
The successful candidate will interact regularly with service engineers to obtain updates on ongoing jobs and ensure that service orders remain on track.
You may be required to follow up on shortages of spare parts and assist with expediting outstanding requirements that could delay service completion. Providing clear and professional updates on service order progress to relevant stakeholders will also be an important responsibility.
Occasional travel to plant sites may be required depending on operational needs.
Financial and System Administration
Accuracy within company systems will be a critical part of the role. The successful applicant will be expected to maintain appropriate statuses for service orders and assist with results analysis and settlement processes.
Service orders must be properly completed and closed in a timely manner to support accurate financial reporting. Candidates should therefore be comfortable working with structured administrative processes and understand the importance of maintaining reliable information in business systems.
The position also involves supporting financial administration connected to service delivery and ensuring that relevant transactions and records are properly maintained.
Reporting and Data Management
The Sales Administrator will assist with service reporting, including on-time delivery (OTD) monitoring and output forecasting.
You will help management understand service trends, operational opportunities and areas that may require attention. Maintaining proper document control will also be important to ensure that records are complete, accessible and prepared for potential audits.
The position requires a high degree of accuracy because errors in service records, order information or financial data can affect customers, operational planning and reporting.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants should have:
- Grade 12 / Matric or equivalent.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in service order administration.
- Strong knowledge of the complete service order administration process.
- Practical experience using SAP, which is essential for the role.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- The ability to manage administrative tasks in a structured and deadline-driven environment.
Experience with Ariba and Coupa will be an advantage.
Additional Experience That Will Be Beneficial
Candidates with an understanding of commercial processes and service operations may have an advantage. Previous experience within the mining, engineering, industrial or technical services sector would also be valuable.
The position requires collaboration with different teams and potentially colleagues across multiple regions. Applicants who are comfortable working with diverse teams and coordinating information between departments will be well suited to the role.
Knowledge of financial procedures connected to service delivery will further strengthen an application.
Skills and Personal Attributes
Weir is looking for someone who can combine strong administrative ability with commercial awareness and excellent attention to detail.
The ideal candidate should be comfortable working with large amounts of information, identifying discrepancies and ensuring that records remain accurate. Good communication is essential because the role involves working with engineers, managers and several internal departments.
A proactive approach to problem-solving is also important. Rather than simply identifying delays or shortages, the successful applicant should be willing to follow up, communicate with the relevant teams and help find practical solutions.
Teamwork, reliability, professionalism and the ability to manage competing priorities will be valuable in this position.
Safety and Company Culture
Safety is a key part of Weir’s operating culture. Employees are expected to demonstrate a strong commitment to workplace safety and contribute to the company’s goal of maintaining a zero-harm environment.
Weir promotes values that include putting safety first, acting responsibly, respecting colleagues, aiming for high standards and delivering a positive customer experience.
The company also emphasizes diversity, inclusion, employee development and collaboration. Successful employees can have opportunities to work with teams across different regions while developing their skills within a global organization.

- Career development and learning opportunities.
- Access to global inclusion networks.
- Regional and team-specific benefits.
- Sharebuilder scheme.

How to Apply
If you meet the requirements and have the necessary experience in service administration, SAP and order management, this could be a strong opportunity to develop your career within the mining technology and industrial services sector.
