About the Opportunity
Motus Corporation is inviting suitably qualified and motivated candidates to apply for a Picker Packer: Stores and Warehouse position at VW Midrand in Gauteng. This permanent opportunity is suited to individuals who are interested in building a career within the warehouse, logistics, stores, and automotive environment.
The successful candidate will contribute to the smooth running of warehouse and stores operations by ensuring that products are correctly selected, prepared, packaged, labelled, and made ready for delivery. The role requires someone who is organised, dependable, safety-conscious, and able to work accurately while meeting operational deadlines.
Although the position is classified as an entry-level opportunity, candidates should have demonstrable exposure to warehousing or logistics operations and understand the importance of accurate stock handling and order fulfilment.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of daily warehouse and stores duties, including accurately picking and packing products according to specified orders. Attention to detail will be important to ensure that the correct products and quantities are prepared for delivery.
The role will also involve assisting with inventory control by conducting stock checks and helping the team maintain appropriate stock levels. Candidates will be expected to identify and report discrepancies, shortages, damaged products, or other stock-related concerns to management without delay.
Proper packaging and labelling of products will form an important part of the position. The successful applicant must ensure that items are handled correctly and packaged in a manner that reduces the risk of damage during storage or transportation.
You will work closely with colleagues to improve the efficiency of picking and packing activities and support the wider warehouse team when required. Maintaining an orderly and clean working environment will also be part of your responsibilities.
Health and safety procedures must be followed at all times. The successful candidate will be expected to work responsibly, use equipment correctly, and contribute to maintaining a safe workplace for employees and other personnel.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants should have experience working in a warehouse, stores, logistics, or similar operational environment. Candidates must demonstrate strong attention to detail and be capable of following established procedures and product specifications accurately.
Basic literacy and numeracy skills are required, particularly for tasks involving order documentation, quantities, stock records, and inventory checks.
The ability to work effectively as part of a team is essential. Applicants should also be comfortable working towards deadlines and adapting to changing priorities in a busy warehouse environment.
Experience with warehouse management systems will be beneficial. However, candidates who have the ability and willingness to learn new technology and systems may also be considered.
Advantageous Experience
Previous experience operating forklifts or other warehouse equipment can strengthen an application. Knowledge of inventory management, stock control, order processing, and fulfilment procedures will also be advantageous.
Candidates with relevant health and safety training or certification may have an added advantage. Previous exposure to the automotive industry, particularly in a stores or warehouse environment, would also be beneficial.
What the Role Requires
This position is ideal for someone who is physically active, organised, reliable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse setting. Accuracy is particularly important because mistakes in picking, packing, stock quantities, or labelling can affect the wider delivery and inventory process.
Successful candidates should be prepared to take instructions, work collaboratively, maintain professional standards, and assist with different warehouse activities when operational requirements change.
Employment Equity
VW Midrand is committed to creating a diverse workplace and operates as an equal opportunity employer. Applications are welcomed from suitably qualified individuals in accordance with the Employment Equity Act.
