We are currently seeking a dedicated Merchandiser to join our Trade division at the Pietermaritzburg Retail branch.

Position Overview
The Merchandiser will play a key role in the day-to-day operations of the retail store. This position is responsible for assisting customers, maintaining store presentation, and supporting stock management processes. The ideal candidate is a hands-on individual who takes pride in organisation and enjoys working in a customer-facing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Engagement
· Provide prompt, courteous assistance to customers in-store
· Advise customers on product features, applications, and availability
· Foster a welcoming environment that encourages repeat business
Merchandising and Visual Presentation
· Ensure products are displayed attractively and according to company standards
· Maintain accurate pricing and product labelling
· Keep shelves, aisles, and displays clean, organised, and fully stocked
Stock Control and Administration
· Assist with receiving and checking incoming stock
· Conduct monthly stock counts accurately and efficiently
· Monitor inventory levels and report discrepancies to management
· Support management with ad-hoc administrative and operational tasks
Compliance and Safety
· Adhere to all health, safety, and store policies
· Ensure the store environment remains safe for customers and staff
Qualifications and Requirements
Education
· Matric / Grade 12 (essential)
Experience and Skills
· Computer literate (basic proficiency required)
· Knowledge of hardware products or stock typically held by TWK Stores is advantageous
· Strong marketing and customer engagement skills
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Personal Attributes
· Hardworking and reliable
· Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced retail environment
· Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy
· Positive attitude and willingness to learn
Licences and Certifications
· Valid driver’s licence (Code 08) is required
