Are you a meticulous HR professional with a passion for precision and a deep understanding of South African labour practices? At G4S, we don’t just offer a job; we offer a career within a global organization dedicated to safeguarding the future. We are seeking a dedicated Human Resources Administrator to become the backbone of our centralized HR operations.
In this role, you will move beyond traditional administrative tasks to become a key custodian of our employee lifecycle. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, possess an unwavering attention to detail, and have mastered the art of balancing compliance with employee support, we want to hear from you.
About the Role
As our Human Resources Administrator, you will be responsible for the end-to-end processing and administration of centralized HR information. This is a high-impact role where your expertise will directly influence the accuracy of payroll, the efficiency of onboarding, and the overall employee experience. You will act as the critical link between recruitment, payroll, and benefits management, ensuring that every process is executed with accuracy and in strict adherence to company policies and South African legislation.
Your primary focus will be on maintaining the integrity of our HR data within SAGE 300 People, managing the full employee lifecycle from onboarding to exit, and ensuring seamless benefits administration.
Key Performance Areas
- End-to-End HR Administration & Onboarding
You will take ownership of the new hire journey. This begins with ensuring a thorough vetting process is completed prior to the start date. You will manage the preparation and processing of all new starter documentation and onboarding packs, ensuring strict alignment with HR guidelines. A critical component of this role is providing accurate advice to new employees regarding company benefits, ensuring that all selections are correctly linked and processed through payroll. You will be responsible for the accurate capturing of all movement forms, including promotions, transfers, and terminations, within SAGE 300 People and any other relevant legislative portals. - Payroll & Systems Integrity
Timing and accuracy are everything in payroll. You will be responsible for submitting monthly payroll-related inputs and resolving payroll queries efficiently. You will ensure that all final approvals reach the payroll department by strict deadlines. A key part of this role is managing the full separation process, which includes receiving formal resignation or dismissal letters, activating exit interviews, and processing all benefit withdrawals, including pension fund withdrawals, UI19s, certificates of service, and medical aid cancellations. - Benefits & Compensation Administration
You will serve as the subject matter expert for employee benefits. This involves administering complex processes such as Workman’s Compensation, death claims, and disability or injury-on-duty claims. You will manage the maternity leave process, ensuring all necessary agreements are in place. An essential annual task is overseeing the distribution of pension fund statements, payslips, and IRP5s, as well as managing the annual process for employees to update their beneficiary details. - Compliance, Reporting & Record Keeping
Maintaining meticulous records is non-negotiable. You will oversee both electronic and hard-copy personnel file administration, ensuring all documentation is compliant and audit-ready. You will compile monthly reports, management information, and KPIs, including provident and pension fund reconciliations and schedules. You will also contribute to the preparation of board packs and various reports as requested by management. - Health & Safety Participation
You will play an active role in fostering a culture of safety. This includes participating in the development and implementation of safety plans, attending safety forums and meetings, reporting incidents, and ensuring compliance with safety policies and the use of protective clothing.
