The Energy and Electricity Business Unit is looking for a dedicated and physically fit Lorry Driver to join our Distribution Operations and Maintenance team. We are seeking candidates who are willing to work shifts, overtime, and standby duty to keep Tshwane’s streetlights and electrical grid operational.

· Total Remuneration Package: Up to R435,155.00 per annum
· Basic Salary Scale: R227,508.00 – R315,984.00 per annum (T6 Level)

Key Responsibilities
As a Lorry Driver, your primary duties will include:
· Safe Transport: Operating heavy vehicles (Code EC/C1) to transport staff, materials, and equipment to various sites across all Tshwane regions.
· Logistical Support: Delivering tools and equipment promptly to ensure uninterrupted operations for field teams.
· Safety Compliance: Strictly adhering to the Occupational Health and Safety Act (Act 85 of 1993) and all municipal driving regulations.
· Resource Management: Ensuring the optimal use of municipal resources to maintain cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
· Multi-skilling: Rotating between various operational teams to enhance technical skills and provide relief where needed.
· Shift Work: Willingness to work shifts, overtime, and stand-by duties as required.
Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following criteria:
- Education: Grade 10 (Std 8) or equivalent.
- Experience: At least six (6) months of relevant driving experience.
- Licenses (Non-Negotiable):
· Valid Code EC (Heavy Duty) or Code C1 driving license.
· Valid PrDP (Professional Driving Permit) . - Medical: Must be physically fit and have excellent eyesight (medical screening required).
- Background Check: Must pass a criminal record check (fingerprints taken by TMPD at own cost).
- Availability: Willing to work shifts, overtime, and standby.
- Flexibility: Must accept placement anywhere within Tshwane as determined by management.

· Strong technical aptitude and driving skills.
· Willingness to accept responsibility and follow instructions.
· Ability to travel extensively within the municipal area.
· High level of physical fitness and stamina.
