About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting automotive parts and related goods safely to customers according to planned delivery schedules. The position requires someone who understands the importance of road safety, vehicle care, customer service, and accurate delivery documentation.
As the face of the company during deliveries, you will be expected to maintain a professional attitude while ensuring that every delivery is completed correctly and in accordance with company procedures.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants should meet the following minimum requirements:
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- At least three years of delivery driving experience
- Valid South African driver’s licence
- Valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP)
- Strong time management skills
- Good communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to perform well under pressure
- Honest, reliable, and trustworthy
- Sober habits
- Clear criminal record
Key Responsibilities
The Driver: Light Duty will perform a variety of daily operational duties, including:
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections before leaving for deliveries and after returning.
- Report any mechanical faults or safety concerns immediately before operating the vehicle.
- Ensure inspection documents are completed and submitted according to company procedures.
- Verify all parcels with the dispatch team before loading the vehicle.
- Follow approved loading procedures to ensure goods are transported safely.
- Deliver customer orders according to assigned delivery routes and schedules.
- Obtain the required Proof of Delivery (POD) documentation from customers.
- Deliver all assigned documents and collection records accurately.
- Return completed delivery documentation to the appropriate department.
- Ensure all delivery paperwork is completed correctly to avoid outstanding queries.
- Prevent unauthorized stock movements between customer locations.
- Keep the delivery vehicle clean and in good working condition.
- Report delivery challenges, customer concerns, or vehicle issues to the dispatch supervisor without delay.
- Follow company policies and operational procedures at all times.
