Position Summary
We are looking for a skilled and responsible Driver to transport company employees and/or goods in a safe and timely manner. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining company vehicles, ensuring strict compliance with all driving regulations, and providing excellent customer service to internal and external clients. You will represent the Hyundai brand every time you get behind the wheel.
Key Responsibilities: What You Will Do
Your day-to-day activities will be varied and essential to the operational flow of our dealership. You will be expected to:
· Safe Transportation: Safely operate company vehicles to transport employees, clients, parts, or vehicles to designated locations across Johannesburg and surrounding areas.
· Regulatory Compliance: Adhere strictly to all traffic laws and regulations, including speed limits, road signs, and company safety protocols.
· Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the vehicle is in optimal working condition. Report any maintenance issues immediately.
· Accurate Record Keeping: Maintain precise and up-to-date records of all trips, including mileage, fuel consumption, delivery times, and maintenance logs.
· Customer Service Excellence: Provide outstanding customer service to passengers and clients. This includes assisting with the loading and unloading of goods, parts, or vehicles when required.
· Vehicle Presentation: Ensure that all company vehicles are kept neat and clean at all times, both inside and out, reflecting the high standards of the Hyundai brand.
· Effective Communication: Communicate effectively with dispatchers, sales managers, and other team members to coordinate schedules, optimize routes, and report on job status.
· Safety First: Follow all company policies and procedures regarding vehicle use, occupational health and safety, and vehicle security.
· Incident Reporting: Immediately report any accidents, incidents, traffic violations, or vehicle malfunctions to management.
Qualifications & Requirements: What We Need From You
To succeed in this role, you will need to demonstrate a combination of practical driving skills, personal discipline, and a customer-focused attitude.
· Valid License: A valid, unendorsed driver’s license is essential. A clean driving record is non-negotiable.
· Experience: Previous experience as a professional Driver, delivery driver, or in a similar logistical role is preferred. Experience within the automotive industry will be a significant advantage.
· Local Knowledge: Strong knowledge of local traffic laws, routes, and geography within Johannesburg and Gauteng.
· Physical Fitness: Ability to lift heavy items and perform physical tasks associated with loading and unloading.
· Independence: Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision while strictly following instructions.
· Communication Skills: Strong verbal communication skills to interact professionally with staff and clients.
· Time Management: Excellent time management and organizational skills to ensure timely arrivals and efficient route planning.
· Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours, including late nights or weekends, if required to meet business needs.
