Role Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and meticulous Cleaner to join our support team in Johannesburg. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene across our school facilities. Your contribution will directly impact the learning environment, ensuring students and staff can work in safe, clean, and welcoming spaces that reflect our commitment to excellence.
As a Cleaner at Inspired, you become an essential part of our educational mission, supporting the wellbeing of our school community through your attention to detail and pride in your work.
Key Responsibilities
· Perform daily cleaning duties across designated areas including classrooms, offices, corridors, washrooms, and communal spaces
· Ensure all surfaces, floors, and furnishings are cleaned to the highest standards using appropriate equipment and cleaning agents
· Maintain the cleanliness of washroom facilities, including replenishing supplies and ensuring hygiene standards are consistently met
· Empty waste bins and dispose of rubbish responsibly, adhering to recycling and sustainability guidelines
· Report any maintenance issues, damages, or safety hazards to the facilities management team promptly
· Follow established cleaning schedules and checklists while demonstrating flexibility to address urgent cleaning requirements
· Operate cleaning equipment safely and ensure all tools and materials are stored correctly after use
· Assist with setup and breakdown arrangements for school events, assemblies, and functions as required
· Adhere strictly to health and safety protocols, including the proper handling and storage of cleaning chemicals
· Maintain a friendly and professional demeanor when interacting with students, staff, and visitors
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
· Previous experience in a cleaning role, preferably within an educational or commercial environment
· Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, equipment operation, and safe chemical handling procedures
· Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain consistent standards across all tasks
· Reliability and punctuality with a commitment to completing assigned duties within designated timeframes
· Physical capability to perform cleaning tasks including standing, bending, and lifting as required
· Basic understanding of health and safety regulations related to cleaning activities
· Good communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
· A positive attitude and willingness to assist with additional tasks when needed
· Flexibility to work varying shifts if required to meet the needs of the school
· Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and respecting the school environment
