About the Role
As a Casual Cashier, you will play an important role in creating a positive shopping experience for customers. Your primary responsibility will be processing purchases accurately while providing friendly and professional service at the point of sale.

Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this opportunity, applicants should meet the following requirements:
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- At least six months of cashier or till operating experience
- Computer literacy, including basic Microsoft Office knowledge
- Good numerical and calculation skills
- Strong communication skills in English
- Basic customer service experience
- Willingness to work retail trading hours, including weekends and public holidays when required
Key Responsibilities
Successful candidates may be expected to perform a variety of cashier and customer service duties, including:
- Welcome customers in a professional and friendly manner.
- Process purchases accurately using the company’s point-of-sale system.
- Accept different payment methods, including cash, bank cards, vouchers, and approved payment options.
- Handle loyalty programme transactions correctly.
- Assist customers with authorised exchanges and returns.
- Maintain accurate cash balances throughout each shift.
- Follow company procedures when processing refunds, price changes, and transaction corrections.
- Ensure all purchased items are correctly scanned before customers leave the store.
- Report customer compliments, concerns, or complaints to supervisors.
- Stay informed about current promotions and special offers.
- Follow all store security procedures to reduce losses and prevent fraud.
- Protect confidential financial information.
- Keep the checkout area clean, organised, and customer-friendly.
- Work closely with supervisors and fellow team members to achieve excellent customer service standards.
