Job Description
As a Cashier at Dis-Chem Lambton Gardens, you will play a critical role in ensuring smooth and efficient point-of-sale operations. Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting customers at the checkout, ensuring a fast, accurate, and friendly service experience.
- Recording transactions accurately using Dis-Chem’s operating system while following company policies and procedures.
- Handling cash, bank cards, vouchers, coupons, and other accepted payment methods with integrity and care.
- Processing loyalty cards for Dis-Chem’s accelerator partners, including Discovery Health Care, Medihelp Lifestage, Momentum Multiply, Legacy Lifestyle, ABSA Rewards, and eBucks.
- Managing refunds, exchanges, and merchandise returns in accordance with store policies.
- Maintaining a secure cash flow, including safe handling of all daily takings, line voids, and price changes.
- Being vigilant, reporting suspicious behavior, and ensuring the safety of colleagues and customers.
- Staying informed on current promotions, sales, and store activities to provide accurate information to customers.
- Adhering to Dis-Chem’s 5-star communication principles and customer service standards.

- Willingness and ability to work retail hours, including weekends and public holidays.
