Key Responsibilities
As an X5 Driver, your daily duties will include a combination of vehicle management, delivery execution, and administrative tasks. Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting pre-departure and post-return vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness
- Completing and submitting inspection checklists to the Dispatch Supervisor on a weekly basis
- Reporting any vehicle faults or issues before departure
- Verifying parcels with the supervisor before loading to ensure accuracy
- Following the company’s dispatch loading procedures at all times
- Delivering goods according to assigned routes, schedules, and trip sheets
- Ensuring all deliveries comply with Proof of Delivery (POD) procedures
- Handling documentation such as delivery notes and collection slips accurately
- Submitting completed trip sheets and ensuring all documentation is accounted for
- Taking responsibility for any missing or incomplete delivery records
- Avoiding unauthorized stock transfers between customer locations
- Maintaining cleanliness and proper condition of the delivery vehicle
- Reporting delivery challenges or discrepancies to the Dispatch Supervisor promptly
This role requires a strong sense of accountability, as drivers will be held responsible for documentation accuracy and delivery compliance.
Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Grade 12 (Matric) qualification
- A valid driver’s license with a Professional Driving Permit (PDP)
- At least 3 years of delivery driving experience
