Overview

This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in maintaining accurate stock records, ensuring efficient stock handling processes, and keeping storerooms clean, structured, and compliant with operational standards.
The successful candidate will form part of a dynamic procurement team and will play a critical role in ensuring that inventory is properly managed to support business operations. This includes receiving goods, verifying deliveries, storing items correctly, and ensuring that stock levels are maintained accurately at all times.
Key Responsibilities
The Storeman will be responsible for a wide range of inventory and warehouse-related duties that support the company’s daily operations. These responsibilities include:
- Monitoring inventory levels and identifying stock shortages or replenishment needs based on usage trends and operational requirements
- Receiving incoming deliveries and verifying all documentation such as packing slips, invoices, and delivery notes for accuracy
- Ensuring that the quantities received correspond with the documentation provided and reporting any discrepancies promptly
- Safely packing, unpacking, and storing stock in a well-organised and accessible manner
- Maintaining a clean, orderly, and compliant storeroom environment aligned with company standards and standard operating procedures
- Keeping accurate records of obsolete, redundant, or defective stock and ensuring proper handling or disposal where necessary
- Managing Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) returned or removed from client sites, ensuring proper tracking and storage
- Coordinating stock collections and deliveries efficiently to support operational requirements
- Assisting the Stock Controller or Line Manager with additional tasks and responsibilities when required
This role requires a proactive approach, strong attention to detail, and the ability to maintain high levels of accuracy in all stock-related processes.
Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this position, candidates should meet the following requirements:
- Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent qualification
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or stock management environment will be advantageous
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling inventory records
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively within a team
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- A valid driver’s licence
Candidates with a strong sense of responsibility and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently will be well suited to this role.
