About the Role
As a Shop Assistant / Cashier, you will play an important role in ensuring customers enjoy a smooth and pleasant shopping experience. You will be responsible for processing transactions accurately, assisting customers with their purchases, maintaining attractive product displays, and supporting the day-to-day operations of the store.
The position requires someone who is friendly, reliable, and committed to providing outstanding service while following company procedures and maintaining excellent attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
Your daily responsibilities will include:
- Operating the point of sale (POS) system accurately and efficiently.
- Processing customer purchases and handling various payment methods.
- Ensuring cash is managed safely and according to company procedures.
- Promoting the Clicks ClubCard programme and assisting customers with new registrations.
- Informing customers about current promotions, specials, and rewards.
- Delivering professional, friendly, and helpful customer service at all times.
- Replenishing shelves and ensuring merchandise is displayed according to company standards.
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and welcoming shopping environment.
- Assisting with stock-related activities and supporting overall store operations.
- Staying informed about products, promotions, and new ranges to assist customers confidently.
- Representing the Clicks brand positively through excellent service and professionalism.
Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this opportunity, applicants should meet the following requirements:
Education
- Grade 12 (Matric) is essential.
- Mathematics and English at Grade 12 level will be advantageous.
Experience
Previous experience in a customer-facing retail or FMCG environment will be beneficial but is not essential. Candidates with a positive attitude, willingness to learn, and strong customer service skills are encouraged to apply.
