Key Responsibilities
Protection and Security
- Protect employees, visitors, property, vehicles, and equipment.
- Maintain a safe and secure environment on site.
- Identify suspicious activities and possible security threats.
Access Control
- Monitor and control all entrances and exits.
- Verify visitors and regulate access to the premises.
- Assist with traffic control when required.
Patrol and Surveillance
- Conduct regular patrols around buildings and perimeter areas.
- Monitor CCTV cameras, alarms, and surveillance systems.
- Ensure all security systems are functioning properly.
Incident Response
- Respond quickly to alarms, emergencies, and security incidents.
- Report irregular activities and security breaches immediately.
- Compile detailed incident and occurrence reports.
Policy Compliance
- Enforce company security procedures and regulations.
- Support emergency evacuations, fire prevention, and safety protocols.
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety standards.
Equipment Management
- Inspect security equipment regularly.
- Report faulty equipment or operational issues.
- Maintain operational readiness at all times.
Customer Service
- Maintain professional communication with clients, visitors, and employees.
- Deliver excellent customer service while maintaining security standards.
Minimum Requirements
- Valid PSIRA Certificate (Minimum Grade C)
- Matric certificate or equivalent qualification
- Previous security experience
- Knowledge of access control and CCTV systems
- Good communication and report-writing skills
- Strong observation and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to remain calm under pressure
- Physically fit and willing to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
