Job Overview
A leading retail pharmacy group is looking for a Casual Merchandiser to join its Glen Acres store in Kempton Park. This role is focused on maintaining high merchandising standards, ensuring shelves are well-stocked, and delivering excellent customer service. It is a great opportunity for candidates starting out in retail or looking to gain practical in-store experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Replenish shelves to ensure products are always available for customers
- Organize and store incoming stock correctly and efficiently
- Monitor product expiry dates and remove outdated stock
- Ensure shelves are neat, properly labeled, and priced correctly
- Rotate stock using FIFO (First-In, First-Out) principles
- Report damaged, missing, or low stock to management
- Assist with stocktaking and inventory counts
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the store and storeroom
- Help with loading and offloading deliveries
- Support merchandising displays and ensure they are well-presented
- Assist customers with product queries and provide helpful service
- Handle customer concerns and follow up on out-of-stock items
- Ensure compliance with store policies, procedures, and safety standards
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Up to 6 months retail experience
- Basic computer skills (MS Office)
- Willingness to work retail hours, including weekends and holidays
Advantageous
- 1 year or more retail experience
- Knowledge of merchandising and FMCG industry
- Bilingual communication skills
- Understanding of stock systems and reporting
