About the Position
Fedics is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Cashier to join its team in Durban. Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Processing customer payments accurately using approved payment methods.
- Operating the point-of-sale system while ensuring every transaction is completed correctly.
- Providing professional, friendly, and efficient customer service.
- Assisting with the preparation and serving of meals, beverages, snacks, and sandwiches.
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and hygienic cashier and serving area.
- Following all cash handling procedures and internal financial controls.
- Supporting stock counting and inventory control activities when required.
- Ensuring food products are presented according to company quality standards.
- Building positive relationships with customers through excellent service.
- Maintaining high food safety and hygiene standards at all times.
- Working closely with colleagues to ensure the smooth operation of the catering unit.
- Performing additional duties assigned by management to support daily operations.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants should meet the following requirements:
- Grade 12 (Matric) or an equivalent qualification.
- Previous cashier or cash handling experience will be advantageous.
- Experience within catering, hospitality, retail, or food service is beneficial but not essential.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Excellent numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure in a busy environment.
- Reliable, punctual, and well presented.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
